CN XI Course


The spinal accessory nerve is actually composed of both spinal and cranial nerves. Spinal nerves from C1-C5 join and enter the cranium through the foramen magnum. These nerves then join with fibers from the medulla and exit the skull via the jugular foramen. Glossopharyngeal nuclei are located in the medulla.
