Axial T2W images show multiple hyperintense lesions (black arrowheads) of the cerebellar hemispheres and midbrain. Bilateral lesions (curved arrows) are seen in the basal ganglia. There is minimal surrounding edema. Gross ventriculomegaly in this 45 year-old patient is seen.

Coronal autopsy specimen (reversed right for left) shows multiple cystic lesions (open arrows) which were filled with mucus-like material in the globi pallidi and putamina.
