Cell of Origin:
Synonyms: Ventricular tumor of Tuberous Sclerosis
Common Locations: Lateral ventricle, attached to caudate head.
Demographics: children, young adults
Histology: Large cells that variously resemble astrocytes, although may express neuronal markers
Special Stains: GFAP variable (usually present), neuronal markers +/-
Progression : No
Radiology: Usually seen with other features of Tuberous Sclerosis. May obstruct f. of Monro and cause hydrocephalus. Enhancement and calcification are both common.
