Accomplishments During Service:

Served as primary POC with Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Department of Labor, State Health Agencies and Congressional Staff concerning claims and licensing issues involving the U.S. Navy’s use of radioactive material.
Established a benchmark shipyard radiation health/emergency response program acknowledged by the Naval Medical Command.
Managed various operational aspects of multi-disciplined, multi-layered U.S. Navy programs in ionizing and non-ionizing radiation involving interface with line commands.

Department Scientist, Pantex Plant, Amarillo Texas from February 93 to July 94.

Certified (Comprehensive) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals in December 97.

Radiation Safety Manager, Pantex Plant from July 94 to July 98. Successfully led the Radiation Safety Department at Pantex Plant into a new safety culture emphasizing integrated safety management, formality of operations, implementation of the DOE Radiological Controls Manual and 10 CFR 835.

Operations Manager, Environment and Health Sciences Division, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) from August 98 to July 99.

Director, Environment Safety and Health, PNNL from July 99 to present.

Remember to have fun and be able to laugh at yourself. All work and no play make work (and home) very dreary.
